Reminder to self: If you have a dream, a goal, a wish, someone you like, something you want but is very afraid to pursue because of what people will perceive, think or criticize about you. Don’t think, just do it, live your life for yourself and those who truly love and support you. Life is too short and fragile for you to worry about every persons viewpoints. Viewpoints are only viewpoints it does not represent the truth. Be strong!!! Take the first step and do your best!

Title: 微笑æ£ä¹‰ Poetic Justice – Ep11
Genres: Romance Film, Mystery
Randomness and boredom during my vacation brought me to my first Singapore drama. Very interesting to see the differences in the method of filming, culture and fashion. It had some interesting plots but a bit repetitive at parts. It was not the best drama I watched but it peaked my interest to look for other dramas from Singapore.

Title: 女相 / Nv Xiang, Female Prime Minister – Ep 45, TV version
Genre: Period drama, romance
By being aware of how we can be our own worst critic, we can diminish or eliminate unsettled internal battles.
自強 zì qiáng, strive to become stronger / strive for self-improvement
Focus on improving your weakness for yourself, not for others. Creating lowly thoughts about oneself that were of nonexistence in other’s minds, is in fact, self-abuse. Love yourself, make yourself into the person you’d be proud of.

When life hits you across the face. What do you do? Complain, cry, and ask God, “Why me?” as a victim? Do you escape or face the issue at hand? For me, I linger and ignore. I came across an interview, Telling Maria 2, and found the advice given to be very simple, direct and useful.
The story:
After, a famous Hong Kong actress, Carina Lau Kar-ling was kidnapped and forced to take nude pictures she was very depressed, distraught and hid from the public. She went through a long period of depression and possible suicide. A friend sent her a letter with 8 short words which helped her survive. She kept these words close and continues to use them in her life.
æŽ¥å— jiÄ“ shòu, to accept/to receive
é¢å° mià n duì, confront/face
è™•ç† chÇ” lÇ, to handle / to treat / to deal with / to process
放下 fà ng xia, lay down / put down / let go / release
“Accept it, Face it, Resolve it, Let it go”
It’s never easy or fun to accept unhappy things but very comforting to know that we have the ability to do so. I often repeat these 8 words to myself when I felt stuck and frustrated. That action, in itself, gave me peace and strength to put issues to rest. Learn these 8 words well with the study materials below and make use if it every day!!!

Translation:
“A very important person to me, wrote me a letter. In her letter she told me to accept it, face it, resolve it, and let it go. I tell others the same 8 words when I know they need to hear it.”

Ever since I can recall my mom has always tried to grow and fruit the Buddha palm squash. These sensitive plants usually do not fruit the first year.  Every year for more than 10 years she tried to nurture these plants. She would care for it and water it meticulously. Blankets would be used in cold winter nights and uncovered in the day. Day by day she would care for it as if it were a child. One way or another it would always die within the first or second year without fruiting. I concluded a long time ago that this plant will not fruit for her. Today, amazingly, her two-year old plant sprout two beautiful babies. I’m overjoyed for her triumph. Hopefully they will grow big and yummy for me to eat…hahaha.
Reminder to self: If you want something, never give up, persistence, patience and tender loving care will always prevail.
