“God answers prayers not because we are his friends, God answers prayers because we persist. Wrestle with God until he blesses you. Ask, ask, ask and pray, pray, pray until he gives his blessing!”
~Today’s Pastor
I never knew prayer could be so aggressive. Although God provides all, you still have to wrestle with Him and ask persistently for what you want. You have to really want what you ask for and not just hope you’ll get it somehow. Be determined in your efforts and in all you do. With strength and faith as strong as a wrestler refusing to loose a match, one day, you will get what you want. Do not be timid to ask for what you want.
Fight for your happiness with persistence!
Last night I woke up half asleep. In that fuzzy moment a clear thought came to me, “God gave us a free will to choose, you can be happy no matter what“. Half recalled from the Bible and half from a book’s title by Richard Carlson. This new found energy, a freedom of choice in my attitude and feelings, flooded me in the middle of my sleep. The two odd combination reminded me, many years ago, of a similar experienced. During a speech class, in junior college, I heard my favorite quote “Attitude” by Charles Swindoll. It made a 180° shift in my perspective on how I should face life. “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” It hit me deep in the heart. In that moment I really wanted to live with this attitude.
Slowly the want to change faded in and out of my mind. Many years have past and I am still bond by my old ways of thinking and doing things. In fact it’s been over 10 years and I have not progressed. My procrastination paired with my lack of memory held me from learning from my past mistakes. Today, I choose to take action by focusing and recording the positives daily. I aim at transforming one thought at a time. This blog will serve as a personal collection of all positive influences, reminding me, all that’s goods in my life. And, so, I start with this thought from my sleep.
